It's been a while since I added pictures to my cliché series. It's a close one to my heart, I get to take all the pictures I grew up starting at, all the images that were used over and over again and became boring. I get to play with the visuals of a familiar image.
My friend Zuzu participted in a group show after a photography workshop she took at the CIC in Cairo. I went to see it and as always I had my camera with me. Upon entering the room I took out my camera and started taking pictures.
I have been taking pictures of Palm trees for more than 10 years now and I can't seem to get bored of it. I keep trying to find an interesting angle or an interesting idea. But I can't seem to find either.
This is a picture I took recently with my new camera.
Sometimes the circumstances are just right for a spontaneous photo shoot. This is again the manual lens in low light conditions, so the focus didn't turn out the way it is supposed to be. I still love the colors and the feeling in these two pictures.
A few months ago I had an idea and I needed to by an ND filter, which made me read more about long exposure photography by day. I then got introduced to the work of Darren Moore and others and I was inspired.
